Timeline
The timeline is the central graphical area of the main editor. It displays all animation segments as coloured bars on horizontal tracks and lets you create, move, resize, and select them.
Visual elements
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Ruler | Horizontal bar at the top showing the time scale in milliseconds. |
| Tracks | Horizontal strips, one per domain element. |
| Segments | Coloured bars representing individual commands. Height = angular position. |
| Playhead | Moving vertical line indicating the current playback position. |
| Range | Semi-transparent coloured zone with two markers: defines the execution interval. |
| Grid | Vertical time reference lines (configurable). |
Creating a segment
- Hold Shift.
- Click and drag horizontally on the desired element's track.
- Release: the segment is created with the position and duration defined by the drag.
Selecting and moving segments
- Click on a segment: selects only that segment.
- Ctrl+click: adds/removes a segment from the selection.
- Click and drag (segment body) on a selected segment: moves all selected segments.
- Click and drag on the left/right edge of a segment: resizes (moves start or end).
Note: The segment must be selected before you can drag the edges. To drag an edge, first click on the segment body to select it, then hover over the edge (the cursor will change) and drag.
Double-click on a segment
Opens the detailed segment editor (Servo segment editor or Audio segment editor) where you can edit all parameters with numerical precision.
Del key — deleting segments
Select one or more segments and press Del to delete them. The operation can be undone with Ctrl+Z.
Zoom and navigation
- Ctrl + mouse wheel: horizontal zoom (enlarges/reduces the time scale).
- Mouse wheel (without Ctrl): scrolls the view horizontally.
- Shift + mouse wheel: scrolls the view vertically.
- Drag with middle button: free pan of the view.
Execution range
The two triangular markers at the top of the timeline define the range. You can move them by dragging. Playback is limited to within the range unless it is disabled in settings.
Visual settings
Timeline style (segment colours, line widths, font size, grid colours) is configured in Timeline settings (Settings button in the main editor toolbar, or Settings → Timeline Settings menu in the start window).
