Start window
The start window is MotioForge Studio's entry point. From here you manage domains and view the configuration of ports, elements, and animations.
Domain panel
The left panel lists all domains available in the configured folder. The buttons on the right side of the list allow you to:
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| New | Creates a new empty domain. |
| Open | Opens the selected domain in the main editor. |
| Edit | Opens the domain properties editor (name, description). |
| Copy | Duplicates the selected domain with a new name. |
| Delete | Permanently removes the domain (requires confirmation). |
Ports tab
Shows the communication ports configured in the selected domain. Double-click a port to view it in read-only mode. Click Edit to open the full ports editor.
Visible columns: name, type, protocol, physical address (COM), description.
Elements tab
Shows all hardware elements of the domain (servos, switches, audio outputs). Double-click an element to view its details. Click Edit elements to open the elements editor.
Visible columns: name, type, model, assigned port, address/pin, description.
Animations tab
Lists all animations of the domain. From here you can:
- Double-click an animation to open it in the main editor.
- New animation: creates a new empty animation in the domain.
- Edit: opens the animation properties (activation mode, trigger, cycle).
- Copy: duplicates an existing animation with all its segments.
- Rename: changes the name without losing segments.
- Delete: removes the animation and all its segments (irreversible).
The Segments column shows how many segments the animation contains, useful for gauging its complexity at a glance.
