Servo segment editor
The servo segment editor opens with a double-click on a SERVO_BUS or SERVO_PWM segment in the timeline. It lets you adjust all movement command parameters with numerical precision.
Time parameters
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Start (T0) | Segment start time in milliseconds from the beginning of the animation. |
| End (T1) | Segment end time in milliseconds. Must be greater than T0. |
Movement parameters
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Final position | Angle in degrees the servo must reach at the end of the segment. Value must fall within the element's Min–Max limits. |
| Calculated speed | Movement speed automatically derived from position and duration. Read-only. |
| Command speed | Speed sent to the controller (0–100). If left on "auto", uses the calculated speed. |
| Maximum speed | Hardware limit of the servo. Used as a ceiling for the calculated speed. |
| Acceleration | Acceleration/deceleration curve (0–150). SERVO_BUS only. 0 = linear movement, high values = smooth ramp. |
Track
In insert mode, the Track combo lets you choose which element to create the segment on. In edit mode the track is locked (not modifiable).
Segment type
The type controls how MotioForge Studio interprets the segment during playback:
| Type | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| MOVE | Moves the servo from the current position to the final position over the T0–T1 interval. |
| HOLD | Keeps the servo at the specified position for the entire duration of the segment. |
| GOTO_ANIM | At the end of the segment, launches another domain animation (defined in the Animation field). |
Confirm and cancel
Press OK to apply changes to the segment. The segment in the timeline updates immediately. Press Cancel to close without changing.
The operation can be undone with Ctrl+Z.
If the final position exceeds the element limits, MotioForge Studio shows a warning
and blocks saving. Check the Min/Max values in the elements editor.
